DeLand is a beautiful city and a great place to call home. It is a city of
grand traditional homes and classic architecture, peaceful neighborhoods,
relaxing parks, and friendly people. While not really a small town, its
atmosphere is reminiscent of a quieter time and an ambiance lost from most
cities.
Beautiful state and local parks, numerous lakes, the St. John River and
sparkling springs are local attractions and offer many recreational
opportunities. Arts and cultural activities abound at the DeLand Cultural Arts
Center and Stetson University. A short drive to the west is Orlando, Disney
World, EPCOT Center, Disney-MGM Studios, Universal Studios, and Sea World. A
half hour east and you arrive at world-famous beaches at Daytona Beach or the
beautiful sugary sand beaches of New Smyrna Beach.
