Home to the "World's Most Famous Beach" and the birthplace of NASCAR, East Volusia and Flagler are well known for their white sandy beaches and lush green foliage. Situated on the east coast of Central Florida, Volusia County has 47 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches and includes Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach, to name a few. Flagler County is a naturally beautiful area located just north of Volusia and home to Flagler Beach and Palm Coast. With a very laid back feel, Flagler is sometimes considered a "touch of old Florida." Located about an hour's drive north of Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center it's also within a few hour's drive of other major Florida neighborhoods, such as Tampa (139 miles), Miami (253 miles) and Jacksonville (89 miles). This area is also home to several institutions of higher learning, including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona State College and the University of Central Florida.
